 A.J. Bodnar
The Folk Project of New Jersey calls him “an exciting singer…with a soaring tenor voice”. A.J.’s virtuoso keyboard playing and soaring tenor voice have attracted a loyal following. An impressive command of standards in jazz, folk, and pop music augment his numerous original songs and instrumental pieces. His original songs cover a wide range of topics, from quirky love triangles to songs of the heart. A.J.’s acting background, which includes work with the comedy group MANHATTAN IMPROV, is evident in his spontaneous stage manner and playful interaction with his audience. To A.J., a concert is an experience to be shared between audience and performer where the audience is very much part of the show. A.J. has toured America and Europe as a jazz musician, songwriter, and folk band member. His album, I’m Mellowed Out Tonight, has been played on college and public radio stations nationwide. A.J. also performs as a duo with his most beloved wife, Liza DiSavino, with the NORMANDY INVASION JAZZ BAND, and is the front man for the groundbreaking folk band ILLEGAL CONTRABAND.
